Ingredients:
For the Burger:
-1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend for best flavor)
-4 slices cheddar cheese
-4 hamburger buns, toasted
-Salt and pepper, to taste
-Lettuce and any other desired toppings
For the Crispy Onions:
-1 large onion, thinly sliced
-1 cup buttermilk
-1 cup all-purpose flour
-1 teaspoon paprika
-Salt and pepper, to taste
-Oil for frying
Instructions:
Prepare the Crispy Onions:
Soak the sliced onions in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
Combine flour, paprika, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Dredge the soaked onions in the flour mixture and fry until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Cook the Burgers:
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal parts and form into patties. Season each with salt and pepper.
Cook on a grill or in a skillet over medium-high heat to your preferred doneness.
